About me

I am an MSc-qualified, UKCP-registered Person-Centred & Experiential Psychotherapist offering individual therapy from a calm, private practice in  Carrington, Nottingham, and online across the UK.

I work with adults who are driven, self-sufficient, or quietly resilient - people who hold things together well, often for themselves and for others, and who have reached a point where something else needs attention.

My approach is relational and person-centred. That means the relationship between us is at the heart of the work - not a technique applied to you, but a genuine, collaborative space shaped around your experience.

I work with care, curiosity, and without judgement.

Training, qualifications & experience

I came to this work through experience as much as training - and that combination shapes how I understand the people I get to work with.

Before training as a therapist, I spent years working in corporate and pharmaceutical environments. That background gave me a first hand understanding of what it costs to keep performing - to be the capable, dependable one - regardless of what's happening beneath the surface.

Core Qualification.

MSc Person-Centred and Experiential Psychotherapy.

Prior Education.

BSc (Hons) Biological Science.

Clinical Experience.

Alongside private practice I have worked extensively within community, educational and third-sector settings including:

  • Nottingham Counselling Service
  • Nottingham Trent University
  • Nottingham Women's Centre
  • Childline

This breadth of experience has shaped a practice that is grounded, flexible and genuinely responsive to a wide range of human experience.

Specialist Training.

  • Trauma-informed practice
  • Parts-based approaches
  • Neurodiversity-informed therapy
  • Mental health crisis response
  • Self-harm and suicide awareness and intervention

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

The therapy space.

I work from a calm, private practice at  Hamilton House, 9 Hucknall Road, Carrington - just outside Nottingham city centre. The space is quiet, comfortable and dedicated entirely to therapeutic work. Dedicated parking is available nearby, with good public transport links.

How I work.

My approach is person-centred and experiential, that means the relationship between us is central. Many of the people I work with don't need someone to tell them what to do. They're capable and resourceful - what they need is a relationship with enough depth to allow something quieter to surface. Not answers from the outside, but conditions for something genuine to emerge from within.

I work at your pace, with care and without judgement. Sessions are usually weekly and last 50 minutes., though fortnightly is possible. I work with people for as few as 4-6 sessions and as long as several years - we agree what feels right and revisit it as we go.

Online therapy.

I offer online sessions via secure video call across the UK. I have undertaken specialist training for online therapy and am happy to discuss a blend of in-person and remote sessions.
