About me

I offer Counselling and Hypnotherapy to any adult (18+). I offer 50 minute sessions either face to face, telephone or online (Zoom, WhatsApp) as preferred. Please choose the means of communication that best suits you.

First steps: Please call or email and I will arrange a 30 minute introduction session where we can talk through what you would like to achieve from counselling and how I can help with that. We can then arrange further weekly sessions if you are comfortable.

Unlike many Counsellors, I prefer not to adhere to any one particular approach, method or model of counselling. I believe that each person’s needs are unique and that a singular approach will not suit everybody. I would rather focus on developing a positive working relationship with you using a flexible approach to the many techniques available, to us, combining the strengths of multiple theories in order to apply those that are most beneficial to your specific needs. I also maintain a strict confidential, moral and ethical stance. Nothing that you bring to your counselling sessions are shared with anyone else.

The talking therapies that I provide, gives you the time and a safe space to explore what is on your mind in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment. The safe space that I will provide for you, will hopefully allow you to understand yourself better and find solutions that really work for you.

Here are some examples of the types of issues that I can help you work through:

  • Stress and anxiety
  • Bullying
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Difficulties at work or the work environment
  • Relationship issues such as separation, divorce, abuse
  • Depression
  • Addiction
  • Anger management
  • Personal development and motivation
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Sexuality and Gender Issues
  • Smoking cessation
  • Low Self-Esteem
  • LGBTQ+ Affirmative

What should I expect from Counselling?

The counselling and hypnotherapy I provide will allow you the space, time and opportunity to discuss in a confidential environment, anything that may be worrying, overwhelming, or simply holding you back from being the person you want to be. The therapies that I offer, can help you overcome any obstacles from your past that are impacting on your present, and working together we can find a way to help you move forward in life.

The worries and anxieties that you may choose to bring to our sessions may be very painful, stressful and difficult to confront. As a professional counsellor I can gently help you explore them in depth, empowering you to move forward. We can explore how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours are linked, and enable you to gain a greater understanding of yourself and how they can be managed. Ultimately, I am here to walk the sometimes painful path with you and together help you find enlightenment and a clearer understanding of what would bring you more happiness and a better quality of life.

It is important that you feel as comfortable as possible with any psychological journey you decide to embark on. Should you have any questions, worries or concerns then please don’t hesitate to contact me as I offer a free 30 minute consultation where we can address your questions

What should I expect from Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy has been proven to help with a number of psychological and social issues, such as Phobias, self-esteem and stopping smoking. Hypnotherapy works by guiding you into a deep relaxed state. During this time, your mind is more open to suggestion. At this point, I will start to introduce suggestions that can help you begin to change the thoughts and behaviours, for example with your relationship to cigarettes, by speaking directly to your subconscious. Ultimately, the hypnosis that I can provide for smokers is aimed to empower you to take control of your addiction and overall health.
