About me

Hi, my name's Holly, I understand that reaching out for help can feel daunting, but you don’t have to go through life's challenges alone. I’m a genuine, friendly  non-judgemental, confidential therapist and my number one aim is to help you feel a happier, more positive version of yourself as you face life's challenges, past or/and present.

If you choose me as your therapist, we can explore what feels most helpful for you, drawing on my wealth of experience of approaches including Person-Centred; psychotherapy; Gestalt; CBT and 'simple to understand' psychoeducation, until you start to feel a more content, happier version of yourself 😊

I offer both individual and couples counselling, providing a safe, supportive space where we can talk openly and find new ways forward. For couples, this can mean amongst other things, exploring patterns, improving communication, and reconnecting with one another.

My in person sessions are in Plymouth in a calming and relaxing therapy room but I also help people remotely online all over the UK.

Whether it's anxiety and panic attacks (which I specialise in), depression, family problems, traumas, relationship challenges, career confusion, low self worth, LGBTQ+ challenges, ADHD, neurodiversity, chronic illness, or one of the other many mental health challenges, I offer a free, no-obligation up to 30 minute chat and would be very happy to hear from you. I also offer a student discount.

Please visit my website at www.hollyryancounselling.co.uk to find out more, or to book a free introductory session please click on the introductory chat link on this website. 😊

Further information

I believe we all have the capacity to find a greater sense of contentment in life. In our work together, we’ll gently explore what might be holding you back. Maybe it's anxiety, depression, low mood, self-doubt, a loss, low self esteem or self worth, or maybe it's the impact of an unprocessed past experience or trauma, whatever the challenge, we can work together to understand why you feel ‘stuck’ and find a way forward. I believe our mind can sometimes feel like lofts full of busy, sometimes messy, boxes; it's my job to help you unpack them and re-organise them in a way that leaves space for you to become the person you want to be.

Sessions are a space for open exploration, understanding, and hope. I look forward to helping you take those steps towards a brighter chapter in your life. As a specialism, I have a deep understanding of anxiety and panic attacks, and a genuine passion for helping people move beyond the cycle that can sometimes become unbearable to live with. I also have a great deal of experience in helping woman suffering from the challenges of miscarriage, post abortion, pregnancy anxiety and permenopausal/menopausal difficulties.

I also understand that it can sometimes feel especially difficult for men experiencing mental health challenges to reach out for help, and I want you to know that I am here for you with empathy, support and without judgment.

Whatever's causing your sadness or worries, do get in touch for a free no obligation chat to see if I can help.
