About me

In the current situation around Covid19 you need not feel isolated.

I can offer online or phone counselling.

I hope you find this informative but if you have further questions please give me a call...

I am an experienced and professionally qualified counsellor, supervisor and counselling tutor.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy which means I work within an ethical framework.
I work with adults, young people and couples, as well as working jointly with parents and their children to assist in communication.

I offer a safe and confidential space in which to explore what has been troubling you without fear of judgement or criticism. I have been trained in a broad variety of approaches to counselling and would draw on the strategies that I consider most suited to your needs.

Understanding what lies behind overwhelming thoughts and feelings can be helpful in strengthening self awareness and enabling change to take place.

Depending on what is right for each individual client I work long or short term.

I am a Programme Manager/ Lecturer of Counselling students and so would welcome students on their exciting journey of self discovery.

Appointments are available during the daytime, evening or at weekends.
In these busy times I will do my best to accommodate you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I presently teach students to become counsellors.
I have my private practise which I run from home this now means telephone or online therapy.

I am also a qualified supervisor who provides a safe online ethical space where counsellors or student counsellors are able to reflect on the content of their therapeutic work enabling them to work to the best of their ability and for the benefit of their clients.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
