About me
Hi!
My name is Hazel Stevenson. I am a Person-Centred Counsellor, who draws on alternative therapeutic methods to ensure the approach and needs of my clients are met.
Talking is a wonderful way to share what’s on your mind. You may not even know what is bothering you, but by talking, it helps to get in touch with your emotions and make sense of your thoughts. Changes are often small but can be significant. Speaking with someone who is really listening and can offer a non-judgemental space to fully express yourself, improve your self awareness, and accept you for being you, can help!
I am also happy to work in a creative way which may suit those who find talking difficult. Online counselling (via video link) is a terrific way if you are struggling with time, are unable to meet at the same time every week, travel a lot or have mobility concerns, or simply find it easier to speak online or by phone, text or email rather than face to face.
Along with private practice, I work alongside non profitable charities offering face to face and online counselling. I work in the third sector and have gained first hand experience working and living within a stressful environment. I understand and can empathise with the struggles looking after family with chronic illness, cognitive sickness and dementia, and the impact this has on you and your family.
I have experience of working with chronic illness, bereavement, bullying, employment concerns, sexual abuse, coercive control, abuse, depression, stress, and general anxiety. Talking therapy helped me. I would like to help you too!
I would encourage everyone to consider the journey of self-discovery, and because of my own experiences, I can empathise with so many issues.
