About me

As a warm and empathetic therapist, I offer support to individuals navigating distress across various aspects of life. With experience in trauma therapy and a special interest in stress, burnout, attachment and self esteem, I help cultivate awareness of how our past shapes our communication, thinking, and behavior. This understanding serves as a foundation for transforming our present experience to make it more fulfilling.

Life experiences often leave us feeling stuck, fragmented, or anxious. In my safe and non-judgmental space, you can freely explore emotions, thoughts, and behaviors, asking the essential questions: 'What?' 'Why?' 'When?' and 'How?'. The answers we discover will be your guide for growth.

I examine how past relationships with ourselves and others influence coping strategies that may no longer serve us. I highly value the therapeutic relationship, believing that genuine connection and understanding drive growth.

Throughout our time together, I support you in rediscovering your innate self-determination and resilience. I employ active listening, reflection, empathy, and, when needed, challenge, investigation, and questioning.

I work in person from my office in Exeter, and I offer walk and talk therapy in Bridport and the surrounding Dorset areas.

Feel free to reach out, either here or through my website. I offer a complimentary introductory session, where we can understand the difficulties you're facing and explore if we can work well together. Following this, we can collaboratively create a support plan tailored to your needs.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
