About me

Creating a space for personal growth in therapy begins with the development of a safe therapeutic relationship. This means that it is important that you see a therapist who is a good fit for you. My approach allows me to offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental listening space where you can take time to explore your experience. My training means that we can work together in either a directive formulated way using CBT or more holistically in an integrative way that uses tools and techniques from various therapeutic modalities to explore your experience.

CBT involves an assessment of problems, difficulties and challenges and a formulation of links between the environmental, emotional, thinking, and behavioural patterns that keep them going or contribute to a feeling of being stuck. Active engagement with tools and techniques developed to ground you in your experience and test and challenge your beliefs, behaviours, and assumptions is key to CBT. This helps to break down unhelpful patterns and empowers you to make the adaptations that will help you grow.

Whether you choose to work on specific defined problems, difficulties or challenges using evidence-based formulations or choose to explore your experience in a more holistic and integrative way my focus is to support you to find ways to explore your experience, meet your needs, achieve your goals and help you grow.

If you would like to reach out but feel a little unsure call, email or text and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
