About me

At times life can seem tough. Maybe you feel like you’re stuck in a rut or that you’re lacking purpose. Perhaps something has happened, everything has changed but you weren’t quite ready.

It feels difficult reaching out to those around you; especially when you’re left feeling frustrated, unheard, and misunderstood. You don’t have to cope all by yourself; it’s normal to feel this way sometimes, and it’s OK to ask for help.

Hello. I'm Ed, a humanistic counsellor. I firmly believe that everyone has the capacity within themselves to heal and grow, and with a little guidance, can achieve positive change and begin to have more better days.

The therapy you’ll experience with me is person-centred, focusing on your needs and experiences. It's based on the humanistic belief that under the right circumstances, everyone has the natural capacity to heal and thrive. When relevant, and where it enhances the therapeutic process, we may invite elements from other therapeutic approaches in to our work, e.g., Gestalt, Transactional/Script Analysis, creativity.

I’m a fully qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). The BACP’s Ethical Framework informs my therapeutic approach, ensuring our work is conducted professionally and safely, while maintaining a good standard of practice.

I currently offer sessions in person, online, and over the phone.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
