Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I have 18 months of experience working in a secondary school setting and a placement supporting families and volunteers working within a charity with challenges. This has given me the knowledge to work with a wide range of clients from different cultural backgrounds. I have experience working with a variety of different issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, childhood traumas, bereavement and loss rape victims and PTSD.

I will work with you to understand the challenges you may be facing. We all experience difficulties in our lives from time to time and need that extra guidance to help overcome these challenges in a non judgemental environment.

My ability to connect with clients comes from a desire to understand them from their unique perspective with empathy and compassion. I understand that no two people are the same even though they may have had similar life experiences or upbringings. I put myself in their world to see through their eyes and the healing comes from the human-to-human connection. My sole goal as a therapist is to help transform the lives of others. I look forward to helping you transform and to help you with challenges in life to explore these experiences and to explore behaviour change through conversation and talking therapy.

I will offer a 20-minute initial consultation without charge; this allows us to have a conversation about what brings you to therapy and your expectations and goals. This way we can both meet each other and decide if we would be suitable to work together. At this consultation, we will also discuss a regular time for us to hold sessions.

If you would like to arrange a consultation, please feel free to send an email or WhatsApp me or phone me after 2pm to request a meeting. I am an individual member of the British Association of Counselors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I abide by the BACP ethical framework in my practice, and I have regular supervision sessions to support my client's work.
