About me

Hi, my name is Donna. I'm a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor based in Huddersfield. I'm a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Life can change as quick as the British weather. One moment it is bright and clear, and unexpectedly it can change and become dark and gloomy. I would like to support and walk with you through the darkness.

I believe that everyone is unique also are their life stories, needs, issues and circumstances. This includes their own counselling journey. Some people may need short-term counselling whereas others may need more longer term therapy. Regardless, I will be there with you exploring your issues and helping you achieve a better understanding of self, and the impact these issues are having on you, whether it may be mild to complex trauma, anxiety, grief, relationships, self-harm, sexual abuse, exploitation or bereavement. I have worked with a diverse range of clients, this includes age ranges from 13 years and upwards, various religions, ethnicities and nationalities.

My counselling practice involves my focus being on you (the client). I am an integrative counsellor and my main approaches are Person Centred therapy combined with a Psychodynamic approach. I would like to offer you a confidential, non-judgmental space where you feel safe and free to talk about any concerns you are experiencing.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
