About me

I offer a warm, calm, safe and non-judgemental space where you can talk about your feelings, experiences and relationships; where you can explore and start healing; where you can face challenges, issues, fears and struggles of living life on life terms - It does not matter whether you need a listening, present, compassionate open mind or rather an analytical deeply reflective and more challenging perspective.

I can work in a Person Centred way focusing on the here and now; or from a Psychodynamic perspective which would focus more on exploring links between past experiences and current patterns of behaviour, exploring hidden thoughts and emotions. Both approaches can also be combined in an integrative way.

We can focus on your goals and needs while you experience empathy, acceptance, and understanding.

I believe in the power of vulnerability and what can be achieved within a strong therapeutic relationship. It is not easy to make this decision and it can take a lot of courage. I offer a 25 min free Zoom call to see whether this feels right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

I have experience working both short and long-term with adults and young people; within NHS talking therapy services, secondary school and further education settings where clients presented a  broad range of issues, circumstances and backgrounds.

I have a special interest in working with addiction, LGBTQ issues, shame, sex and relationships.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

NCPS
National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society

This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
