About me
Welcome to my profile page. If you are currently seeking a psychotherapist or counsellor, then perhaps I can help?
I have over 25 years’ experience of working with individuals and couples at a number of agencies, charities and in private practice whereby there is a sense of unease with a past or present situation, a crisis has occurred which feels daunting, or meaning ascribed to aspects of day to day life has changed.
My therapeutic orientation is integrative, influenced by existential-phenomenological thinking. In practise I aim to create a compassionate, safe and confidential environment in order to develop a working partnership, thus allowing my clients to better understand and clarify their views and values about life and experience of living. This journey calls for personal honesty and reflection on responsibilities. I believe psychotherapy creates opportunity for insights and extends a capacity for choice and decision, within the context of the unique dilemmas being considered. It is a space where my clients can consciously embrace and change how they would like to live.
Each person has individual needs and I have experienced using a short-term brief therapy model (6–12 weeks) and an open-ended long-term basis with a wide range of presenting issues to support my clients in finding their solutions. These have included (but not limited to) affairs and betrayals, bereavement, expatriates, low self-confidence, low self-esteem, relationship unease, sexuality, shopping addiction and work-related stress.
I offer therapy online (via Zoom or Skype) or telephone.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
