About me

***Evening appointments now available***

I'm an integrative counsellor working both online and in-person with individuals.  In addition to helping my clients with various mental and emotional challenges, I have a special interest in working with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and relationship issues.

You may be experiencing relationship problems - with a partner, family and friends or colleagues and wondering why particular patterns keep occurring. Perhaps you are struggling with low self-worth, or that negative voice within you has become so loud that you are finding it difficult to relate to others and the world around you.

I provide a safe, confidential, inclusive space where you can share your thoughts without fear of judgement and express your feelings freely, being accepted and deeply understood by a compassionate professional.

Initially, my work is about building a deep understanding of what it is like to be you and how you move through the world, the things you experience and how they affect you.  This is an exploratory process making use of curiosity, patience and sensitivity that we will do together at a pace that is right for you.  It is likely that you will gain a fresh perspective on your concerns and begin reframing them such that their impact becomes less and less.  This may involve new insights into past situations and relationships or the resolving of old feelings.

Amongst the positive outcomes clients experience include overcoming the effects of depression, anxiety and stress, working through unresolved feelings of anger, grief or loss and healing painful experiences.  Re-establishing trust, respect and openness in their relationships and generally taking more enjoyment and pleasure from daily life.

Clients may also notice a clearer sense of self-worth and purpose, they may be more able to make effective and responsible decisions and grow a capacity to generate more options in everyday life.

What does this mean for you?

I will help you learn how to self-reflect constructively and compassionately, developing your self-awareness so that you are more in tune with your needs.  These are the skills that you will take away after our work together concludes.

Next steps

Reaching out for counselling support can feel daunting but beginning therapy is the first step to improved well-being.  Book a free 30 minute consultation so that you can decide if working with me feels right.  We can talk about what you hope to achieve through our sessions together and we can discuss what the plan going forward might look like so that you can begin the journey to feeling better.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
