About me

I have a background in NHS Mental Health Services, now providing both remote (online) and face-to-face private therapy sessions in N4 and E17.

During my time in the NHS as a therapist based across various GP practices across London, I worked with a very wide and diverse range of people of all ages, from all backgrounds and walks of life, with a huge range of difficulties and issues ranging from anxiety, depression, and trauma, to difficulties with relationships, low self-esteem or confidence.

Therapy is more than simply sitting and talking about your problems. What may appear like ‘just talking’ is much more than that. Therapists are trained to help someone actively work through and process experiences, helping to learn and adopt new ways of coping. I work in a way that draws on a range of different therapy techniques - you can read more about me, how I work, as well as more information about what therapy is, and how the therapy process works in the FAQ section of my website: www.talkingcuretherapy.com.

You can also read more about specific issues, like managing anxiety, low self-esteem, negative critical voice, and overcoming rumination in the articles section (www.talkingcuretherapy.com/articles).

Online therapy:

Many people now prefer online therapy. It can often be more cost effective, more convenient, and time saving. I have specifically undertaken further training to work online - which can be a bit different from having in-person sessions. We know that online therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions, but there are certain considerations to bear in mind. You can read more about having online therapy at: www.talkingcuretherapy.com/online

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
