About me

I am a grief counsellor specialising in all things grief and loss. Grief is a normal response to loss which can take many forms, not just bereavement, but nonetheless painful. I work with adults and offer counselling on-line via Zoom platform or by telephone. I offer 50 minute sessions on the same day and time each week. Together we can explore your own particular circumstances and what has brought you to counselling. I believe that your grief is unique, and I aim to respect it as such, listening to to the ways in which your grief has impacted you and why.                                                                                                               When I work with you, you will experience a welcoming space in which to speak and be heard, and to express painful feelings. I will ask you what goals you may hope to achieve, this should never be a worry if not yet formulated.                           Together, in a mutually agreed number of sessions we can travel through the grief terrain in order to arrive filled with hope at the next destination.                          I offer a free, no obligation initial conversation by phone to see if I am the right counsellor for you. Are you ready for the next step?

Training, qualifications & experience

Prior to qualifying as a counsellor I gained much life experience working in the hospitality industry, looking after people and their needs. This paved the way to working in the service of others in a new capacity.

Initially, I gained invaluable experience as a bereavement befriender for a local Hospice, working with people  coping with grief combined with complex mental heath issues. Post qualifying with a level 4 diploma from the Counselling Pastoral Trust I have felt privileged to work with a bereavement charity for several years prior to having a private practice. I also have a Grief Educator certificate from training received from David Kessler - co author with Elizabeth Kubler Ross for On Death and Dying.

I am on-line and telephone counselling certified.

As part of my on-going development I attend professional seminars, workshops and receive regular supervision.
