About me
I am an experienced therapist offering online therapy to individual clients aged 16 years and above.
Therapy provides an opportunity to better understand ourselves, untangle inner conflicts and bring about positive change. Your sessions with me are confidential and provide you with a space to talk freely, separate from your personal and professional networks. It can be the place where you drop the social script; you don't have to pretend to me that you are feeling fine.
I acknowledge that the environments we grew up in and what we experience as we move through the stages of our lives, can leave us with emotional wounds, anxiety and unhealthy coping mechanisms.
I am experienced in working with clients who suffered from emotional abuse and neglect as children from their care givers. The impact of childhood abuse can be far reaching and can and does, impact a person well into adulthood. Did you experience criticism, judgement or bullying? Was there a domineering character in the family who left you walking on eggshells?
The impact of abuse may have left you with feelings of anxiety, grief, depression and perhaps a feeling of aloneness, coupled with a strong need to be self sufficient, as you learnt early on that you couldn't rely on those around you for support.
I work with people who may not look like they’re struggling. Often high-achieving, capable, thoughtful, the kind of person others lean on. However, deep down there is exhaustion, sadness, anxiety. A deep sense of disconnection from self.
Another area of experience is working with bereavement and loss. I trained with the nationwide charity, Cruse Bereavement Support, and supported clients who had experienced bereavement and loss. The loss may have occurred recently or decades ago. Grief is complex and there are no rules about how each individual will process their feelings and emotions.
My bereavement work with clients encompasses many forms of loss; the loss of a loved one, the loss of a pet, the grief for the life you imagined you would have, but didn't get to experience. The missed opportunities, jobs, relationships or children, that didn't happen for you. It's a form of disenfranchised grief and we can explore this.
I work with relational difficulties, whether that’s struggles in a couples relationship, family tensions or issues at work with your boss or colleagues. We can explore challenges in communication and connection with others.
I am experienced in working therapeutically with counsellors and other helping professionals, who need a confidential, no performance zone of their own.
I work in an integrative way, which means I draw upon various modalities, mainly Person Centred therapy with elements of Gestalt and Psychodynamic. I will support you and work with you, to improve your emotional well being. I tailor the therapy to suit your individual needs and can offer short or longer term sessions.
It's so important that you find the right therapist for you; that's why I offer an initial consultation by telephone. This free consultation provides an opportunity for you to discuss what you want to get out of the sessions and to find out a bit more about how I work. I really recommend having the free consultation. So, please get in contact and I look forward to speaking with you!

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
