About me
I am an experienced therapist offering online therapy to individual adults of all ages.
Therapy provides an opportunity to better understand ourselves, untangle inner conflicts and bring about positive change. Your sessions with me are confidential and provide you with a space to talk freely, separate from your personal and professional networks.
I acknowledge that the environments we grew up in and what we experience as we move through the stages of our lives, can leave us with emotional wounds and unhealthy coping mechanisms.
I am experienced in working with clients who suffered from emotional abuse and neglect as children from their care givers. The impact of childhood abuse can be far reaching and can and does, impact a person well into adulthood. Did you feel like you could not be yourself growing up? Did you fear criticism, judgement or ridicule? Was there a dominant character in the family who everyone else had to tip toe around, out of fear of upsetting them?
The impact of abuse may have left you with feelings of anxiety and depression and perhaps a feeling of aloneness and a strong need to be self sufficient, as you learnt early on that you couldn't rely on those around you for support. Do you find it hard to ask for help? Complex family dynamics is something you can explore during sessions with me.
Another area of experience is working with bereavement and loss. I trained with Cruse Bereavement Support and supported clients who had experienced bereavement and loss. The loss may have occurred recently or decades ago. Grief is complex and there are no rules about how each individual will process their feelings and emotions.
I work in an integrative way, which means I draw upon various modalities, mainly Person Centred therapy with elements of Gestalt and Psychodynamic. I will support you and work with you, to improve your emotional well being. I tailor the therapy to suit your individual needs and can offer short or longer term sessions. I aim to provide my clients with a supportive and calm space, where you can speak freely without being judged. For some clients, it can feel like the first time someone has truly listened to them.
A big part of my work with clients is in helping them to acknowledge, and then utilize, their own power so that they can create a more fulfilling life for themselves.
It's so important that you find the right therapist for you; that's why I offer an initial consultation by telephone. This free consultation provides an opportunity for you to discuss what you want to get out of the sessions and to find out a bit more about how I work. So please get in contact and I look forward to speaking with you!

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society
This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations.
In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
