About me
Hello. My name is Claire. I am a therapeutic counsellor working face to face in Newport Pagnell and online with adults and young people (16+).
You may be wondering if ‘just talking’ about things can help. In my experience it really can. Feeling able to speak freely, at your own pace, in a warm, non-judgmental, safe environment- outside of family and friendship circles, can be useful and powerful. It offers the space to explore how we truly feel about ourselves, and our relationships, our experiences and patterns of behaviour. Sharing problems in this way can make us feel less alone and the awareness counselling brings can make change feel possible.
I am an Integrative counsellor which means I bring together a wealth of knowledge and training from different therapeutic schools. This enables me to tailor our sessions to your individual needs and to fully support you as you explore what it is that brings you to counselling.
My clinical experience includes working with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and trauma amongst other difficulties including workplace stress and bereavement.
I have worked for a charity specialising in sexual violence and have extensive experience of working with young people in secondary school settings.
If you are interested in starting counselling with me, sessions are fifty minutes, and the fee is £50. I work with both time-limited and long-term clients in my comfortable first floor therapy room in Newport Pagnell. I also offer online and telephone sessions.
Our next step would be a short conversation via telephone or video call, which is free. We can use the time to discuss if counselling with me would be appropriate for us both and for you to have the opportunity to ask any questions.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
