About me

I work with individuals and couples, offering sessions in London SW5 and online.

I provide a relaxed and safe space to help you untangle your problems - allowing you to better understand your patterns and identify any links to past experiences, including formative relationships and trauma. Drawing on these insights, I then collaborate with you to figure out the most effective and sustainable ways to deal with your difficulties.

I work in an integrative way, meaning that I draw on a blend of different counselling approaches, depending on your priorities and needs.

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm a Senior Associate with the therapy agency Heart and Mind, where I have worked since 2022. I have also worked as a therapist with the mental health charity Mind and NHS.

I'm a qualified counsellor with a postgraduate diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Derby. As an integrative therapist I work using a blend of Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Attachment Theory. I'm trained in Walk and Talk therapy and can offer this as part of my work with you where this would be beneficial.

I've also completed foundation level training in Family and Couples (Systemic) therapy from the Association for Family Therapy (AFT), and am currently undertaking AFT's Systemic therapy training at intermediate level. This training also follows an integrative approach and I use Systemic models when working with couples, as well as integrating them into my work with individuals where helpful.

I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I'm also a registered member of the Association of Christians in Counselling (ACC) and can discuss issues of faith, religion and spirituality where that is relevant to you.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in international development and peacebuilding, and have lived in several countries around the world.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

ACC
Association for Christian Counsellors (ACC)

The Association of Christian Counsellors and Linked Professions is a professional body representing and setting standards for Christian counselling and care in the UK. The organisation is made up of various different membership categories, including Counsellor and Accredited, and requires all members working as counsellors to undertake Continuous Professional Development on a regular basis.
