About me

Welcome. I'm an Integrative Counsellor who values a holistic approach which takes general personal development into account.

Whatever is not working or is disappointing or seems to need putting back together we will explore it. I believe that your most valuable resource resides within you, and not found from needing others or life to change first.

My experience is that, if you are standing on solid ground internally(within yourself), you will face external circumstances with greater ease.

Our work together will involve me providing a safe space for you to explore insights about how to move forward and navigate challenges.

Counselling is one way you can look after yourself without waiting to be in crisis first to seek it. If you feel stuck in uncertainty and wish to find a way to take the next step, I can help.

While I work see adult clients with various Counselling needs, my passion is working with women in a transitional phase in their life. This process of leaving behind some parts of how life was could be enormous for some. Whether it's becoming a mum, thinking about joining the workforce after being a full time homemaker or any other form of imminent transition, I will walk alongside you through it.

Women have a huge capacity to cope and that's admirable. I offer a way to maintain this capacity while avoiding burnout. It's likely that you will be juggling and multi-tasking along with what you're venturing into. I will support you in making sense of new or confusing unhelpful emotions in a non- judgemental professional space.

I also support women who are caught in the web of procrastination and now have anxiety building up. If something in your life is inadequate, unsatisfactory or doesn't work anymore I offer a professional way to examine things and maybe put some puzzle pieces together. A good place to start is to get in touch to see how it feels talking to me.

Training, qualifications & experience

My training was in the Humanistic Model which left me with a special appreciation for the Existential approach as well as a Person Centred approach when working with clients. I have ongoing professional development studies which keep me informed about varying theories and techniques. My most recent learning included working in the area of Trauma and Shame.

I am a professionally trained Counsellor with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I am registered with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and abide by their high standards and ethical codes. I have a private practice now along with many years working for a Charity where I still see clients.

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Additional information

Above all, the relationship between us while we work together matters most. I offer an initial conversation to ascertain if we're a good fit. It's usually a 15 minute chat online or on the phone to explore whether working together feels good for you. We’ll discuss what brings you to counselling and how I can help.

I see clients both In person and Online. Sessions are £50 and are typically on a weekly basis for 50 minutes. Payments are made in advance of each session via bank transfer or online payment. Paying on the day via cash or card machine is also an option.
