About me

Regardless of whether you are in a crisis or not, therapy is a carved out space solely for you. A space of exploration, reflection and full of potential for healing and change. The threshold of looking onto the darker, more despairing side of life is often terrifying and isolating and I am here to help you. I weave together compassionate self-inquiry and transformational techniques such as visualisations and meditation tailored to your needs to support you.

I am a BACP registered counsellor working with a diverse range of adult clients, long and short term, including clients suffering trauma, bereavement, anxiety, recovery from addiction, abuse, depression, relationship difficulties, existential issues, work related stress and spiritual crisis/bypass.

I chose to train in Psychosynthesis as it is aligned to my core belief that we are all unique and individual souls journeying through life. While Psychosynthesis acknowledges and works with the pain and suffering inherent in the human condition, it also suggests a path for empowering our human ability to create harmony internally. It is a holistic approach that is able to sink to the depths to heal deep trauma, whilst being equally capable of reaching our, too often ignored, higher capacities that inspire and guide.

Training, qualifications & experience

After graduating in Law from the University of Warwick, I went on to train as a Management Consultant in the financial services industry, working across Europe and Asia. Having worked in Banking for 12 years, I have had the opportunity to engage with a variety of professionals in demanding environments and I understand how the challenges of working in the corporate world can sometimes trigger addictive behaviours, anxiety, depression or even midlife crises.

I hold an MA in Psychosynthesis Psychology - Institute of Psychosynthesis in affiliation with Middlesex University and a Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling.

I have a special interest and experience of working with the South Asian community which is often characterised by unique traditions, beliefs, ideologies, customs and ongoing practice from generations to generations.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

The initial consultation is a safe space for us to get to know each other. You will have the chance to share your reasons for wishing to attend therapy as well as an opportunity for us to explore how we might work together. I will discuss in some detail the agreement or contract for therapy, the regulations governing confidentiality, and my availability. This allows us to think about whether we can work together in therapy.

I offer this initial session free of charge for a duration of 30 minutes and by the end it, we will have worked out how to approach your specific needs together.

If we wish to be on this journey together, I will give you a questionnaire to fill for further assessment of your issues.
