About me

Welcome, I’m Charlotte. Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming and daunting. I specialise in working with adults who are struggling following one or more traumatic events, including survivors of sexual violence, abuse, trauma and complex PTSD.

I have supported people with a range of difficulties during my career in the charity, NHS and private sectors. I could help you to move on from whatever may be troubling you, including both deep rooted issues and day to day difficulties. I can help with depression and anxiety, managing triggers, flashbacks and nightmares, exploring relationships with others, working with feelings of shame and overwhelm. I aim to empower you to build confidence to make decisions which are right for you and to set boundaries, to enable you to feel happier and more 'yourself' and to be able to enjoy life.

I aim to create a safe space, free from judgement to explore the important things which have brought you to therapy. We’ll work in collaboration towards your goals, to help you develop tools to help you cope with future challenges and at a pace which feels comfortable for you. I offer both short and long term therapy. Previous clients have described me as trustworthy, reliable and patient.

I have a masters degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy. I am a certified Cyber Therapist and I have completed specialist training for providing therapy online.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
