About me

I offer a gentle, non-judgemental environment that encourages you to explore the thoughts, feelings and events that may be negatively impacting your life. Through self-exploration and reflection, you may feel more able to experience your life with fulfilment, authenticity and contentment.

My practice is integrative, meaning I draw from a number of different therapeutic models to ensure each individuals needs are met. This may come in the form of providing tools to help manage day to day anxiety that is keeping you down or exploring past relationships with family members and other people of significance to help you to get a better sense of who you are and how you relate to the world.

Seeking therapy can be daunting and confusing so I would just like to say that any reason that you have for coming is good enough and there is no right or wrong way to start.

I will respond to your query within 48 hours in the week.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked both privately and in the NHS in short term (8 week), long term (open ended) and online contracts.

My expertise includes: anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief, relationship issues, self-worth, identity, sexuality, life changes, control, negative self-talk, feelings of overwhelm, purpose, unhealthy patterns and habits.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

Once I have received your message of interest in therapy, I will contact you to set up a free 10-15 minute phone call so that we can introduce ourselves and to help ease any worries you might have about coming to therapy.

Our first session will be an assessment where I will ask you some questions about your past, as well as questions that inform me as to how your life is lived at the moment. At the end of the first session, I will give us a chance to reflect on the session and ask if you would like to continue on a weekly basis.
