About me

Hi, I’m Chantelle

Regardless of your reason for dropping by (whether you’re just having a browse, looking for something specific or just dipping your toe in the water to see what type of counsellors are out there?) Thank you for visiting my information page its really appreciated.

If this is your first time visiting counselling directories. Choosing a counsellor can be a daunting process and no doubt your inner dialogue will be going into overdrive right about now, with thoughts like “wow there are so many people to choose from where do I start?”

As you scroll through the first few pages your cheeky sabotage monkeys may be screaming OMG!!! This is just too overwhelming, there is way too much information here. Along with questions like “What does my problem come under?” ‘Where do I fit?” “Maybe I don’t fit at all?” “They are all probably too expensive anyway” “Maybe, things aren’t that bad, maybe I should just see how things go”

And before you know it, you will have talked yourself out of taking the next step and be no further forward in choosing a counsellor. To provide you with professional help and support that could make a real difference to you and your current situation.

My advice to you would be, to listen to that niggling feeling inside of you. It’s letting you know that you are not happy and you want things to change. Believe me when I tell you, you are braver than you think, you have come this far, don’t get thrown by technical jargon. Let your instincts guide your decision about who’s the best person for you but most importantly, don’t waste any more time.

My aim as a therapist to help people understand their problems and work through their difficulties. So that they have a genuine reason to smile more and live happier more meaningful life’s.

I guess the take home message is “It’s okay to put yourself at the top of your own priority list”. Good mental health is not selfish act it’s essential, try as you may, you can’t pour from an empty cup.

If you’re looking for friendly professional support, give me a call.

Best wishes

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Professionally Accredited practicing Psychological Therapist. I have several years’ of postgraduate experience of working with adults and older adolescence within primary / secondary care and private practice. Informed by evidence-based practices, I work within the context of both time limited and longer-term psychotherapy.

I am trained in Integrative/Relational psychotherapy that incorporates both CBT and Psychodynamic approaches, rooted in a Humanistic Person-Centered philosophy. That places emphasis upon the importance of therapeutic relationship in the facilitation of positive change and tailor’s treatment to the level of the individual. I also have training in Guided Self-Help, Solution Focused approaches, Mindfulness and Jack Canfields Success Principles.

In addition to a specialist interest of working with people who have personality difficulties, which stems from my work
within in-patient services.
