About me

Reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re someone who usually copes alone. Many of the people I work with describe a similar experience: on the outside they seem capable, calm or “together,” but internally they feel overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or quietly exhausted.

Often there’s a sense of something isn’t right, but it’s hard to name; a mix of overthinking, self-doubt, emotional shutdown, or feeling on high alert. For some, it’s a recent ADHD diagnosis (or suspected diagnosis) that’s prompted a re-evaluation of long-standing patterns. For many, it’s a whisper of loneliness, invisibility or “not enough-ness” that’s becoming harder to ignore.

You may resonate with one or more of the following:

  • You feel torn between conflicting thoughts, expectations or emotions.
  • Other people see you as capable, but inside you feel anxious, overwhelmed or depleted.
  • You’re the reliable one (the person others lean on) but you struggle to ask for support yourself.
  • You often feel unseen, misunderstood or disconnected in relationships.
  • You mask your struggles well, but it comes at a personal cost.

If any of this sounds familiar, you’re in the right place. My work centres around self-sabotage, internal conflict, high-functioning distress and the lasting impact of a childhood where your practical needs were met but your emotional experiences often went unacknowledged. All of which can leave you feeling stuck in patterns you can’t seem to shift.

Therapy offers a place to slow down and listen to the parts of you that have gone unheard: the tired part, the frightened part, the part that’s trying so hard, the part that longs to be seen. Over time, clients often describe feeling more grounded, more themselves, and more able to make choices from a place of clarity rather than fear.

How I Work

I offer a calm, steady and reflective space where we can explore what’s happening beneath the surface: the beliefs, coping strategies and relational patterns that shape how you feel and behave. Insight matters, but so does learning how to put that insight into practice.

My approach is:

  • Relational - We pay attention to how your early experiences may be echoing into the present; particularly if you grew up feeling unseen, unheard or not quite enough.
  • Depth-oriented - I work with unconscious patterns, internal conflicts and the emotional “logic” behind self-sabotage, withdrawal, perfectionism, people-pleasing or chronic over-functioning.
  • Compassionately challenging - I stay alongside you, but I’ll also help you question patterns that keep you stuck.
  • Integrative and psychoanalytic-informed - Drawing on attachment theory, analytic psychology and integrative practice, we look at your whole emotional landscape, not just the symptoms.

Clients often seek therapy with me when they are:

  • feeling emotionally overwhelmed, anxious or stuck
  • navigating loneliness or disconnection in relationships
  • exhausted from masking and/or longing to be truly themselves
  • caught between competing inner voices
  • struggling with identity after noticing neurodivergent traits
  • unsure how to prioritise themselves without guilt

Therapy isn’t about becoming a different person; it’s about becoming more yourself, with more internal space and less fear.

People often come to me hoping to understand themselves better (and they do). But understanding alone isn’t the destination.  In our work, you may find yourself:

  • feeling more grounded and less overwhelmed
  • becoming kinder to yourself internally
  • recognising (and challenging) old relational patterns
  • learning how to identify and express your needs
  • building a stronger, clearer sense of self
  • reducing self-sabotage and emotional reactivity
  • strengthening your relationships with others

For people who have always coped alone, therapy can feel like a relief. A place where you don’t have to perform, mask, minimise or explain away your needs. Somewhere were you can be you.

Practicalities

I work with adults in-person in Tunbridge Wells and online across the UK.

We meet weekly for 50 minutes. Consistency helps the work build momentum and provides the emotional continuity needed for deeper change.

I’m a BACP registered counsellor and psychotherapist, fully insured, DBS checked, and trained in both integrative and psychoanalytic approaches. My background in corporate learning and development gives me additional insight into stress, burnout, identity shifts and the challenges of high-pressure roles.

I also have specialist training in ADHD, trauma, online therapy and reflective practice. Alongside my clinical work, I teach counselling skills and offer clinical supervision.

First Step

Finding the right therapist matters. I offer a free, no-pressure consultation call so you can get a feel for how it might be to work together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
