About me
My clients often feel stuck and have lost a sense of who they are. If you’re feeling overwhelmed and don’t know where to start I can help you to gain clarity, prepare for change and support you throughout the process so that you can take ownership of your story and move towards greater life satisfaction.
Life can be overwhelming which makes it hard to know what next step to take, or how to get back to feeling like you used to. This can be made more difficult if you also have additional issues, such as anxiety, depression or challenges with low self-esteem. Whether the change is altering the way you perceive things, doing something different or making space to accept things the way they are. I help you to explore what really matters to you as well as identify patterns that keep you feeling stuck and develop your inner resilience.
Starting counselling can be intimidating and even the prospect of growth and moving in a positive direction can feel frightening because you’re moving out of your comfort zone into unfamiliar territory. That’s why having support from a neutral person outside your usual daily contacts can be helpful.
I aim to show up in sessions authentically while fully engaging in your experiences – as a judgement free zone hopefully you will also feel able to figure out and express how things are for you knowing that you are in a confidential space and what you say will stay private. Any issues you face are welcomed in my work, even if you perhaps consider them too small or insignificant, a part of you might judge yourself for seeking help for small matters when others have been through more – I often hear clients say “I have a good life, I shouldn’t feel this way”. This can often leave you feeling guilty, I think counselling is for everyone and there is no need to minimise what you’ve been through by comparing it to other people, if something is causing you difficulties then counselling can be a great resource to help you work through it.
How I work:
My counselling room is a relaxed space for us to work together. I follow your lead, you set the pace and can use the time for whatever feels important to you – I believe that given the opportunity you can tune into and build trust in your own inner knowing.
I really listen to what you say and your experience, this informs how I blend techniques and interventions. I use tools taken from a wide theoretical base, that are well researched and shown to be effective.
I am led by compassion and I enjoy helping people discover space in their lives for more positive experiences and the ability to live in greater alignment with what really matters. I think that this has a restorative, recharging effect.
Working together:
I work online or in person from my counselling room in Cheadle Hulme.
Counselling offers a contained confidential 50-minute window in your week in which you can gain clarity, insight and look at your issues from a new perspective.
To find out more about how I work or to ask any questions, get in touch with me by email, text or voicemail and I will arrange a free 15-minute introductory call.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
