About me

Are you struggling to cope? Need support through a difficult time or event in your life? Or maybe there are things from the past that are preventing you moving forward?
Life throws up challenges and sometimes we all need extra support. Counselling provides a quiet, supportive and non-judgmental space where together we can explore whatever you are finding difficult in your life right now.  I will listen to you with compassion and understanding to work alongside you at your pace.

I offer support for a range of issues including anxiety and social anxiety,  depression, low self-esteem, trauma, relationship issues, abuse, bullying and bereavement. I am here for you, for whatever you need to talk about in a warm, comfortable and confidential space.

I offer counselling for all of life's ups and downs; originally training in bereavement counselling this has become a specialty of mine and I have now worked in this field for over 10 years.
Have you suffered a bereavement or loss? This may be the death of a loved one, friend or colleague, or, it may be a different kind of loss such as that of a relationship, your home, business or health. I am passionate about supporting people through what can be one of the most difficult times of their lives.

Are you a young person who is finding life difficult? Or the parent or relative of a young person who is struggling?
Working with young people is something I am passionate about. Having completed additional specialist training in young persons counselling, I volunteer my counselling services in schools in my spare time. I enjoy connecting with them to help them gain the confidence and tools they need navigate their way through adolescence and early adulthood.

Having had a career as a nurse in the forces, I also have a special interest in trauma and working with forces, ex-forces and emergency services personnel.

I offer a free phone consultation as standard to help you decide if I am the right counsellor for you.
I look forward to hearing from you, warmest regards.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
