About me
Hello I’m Caroline Burkett founder of Sparkle Again therapy and I specialise in working with women over 40, who aren’t happy with their life right now.
Is that you? Maybe you’re feeling low or feel you are suffering from depression or panic?
You’re not really sure why, but you know something’s wrong?
Perhaps you are suffering from stress, anxiety or you have recently suffered a bereavement?
Or your feeling sad, confused, and most importantly you don’t know what to do to start feeling better again, well I can help you.
I’m an expert in talking to you, about what’s not working right now in your life, and most importantly how together we can make changes to get you to where you want to be.
I have worked with many women who get to 40 and who feel down or depressed, so you’re not alone, it could be that you’re feeling that life’s not quite turned out how you planned or expected it.
Perhaps the sparkling career you hoped for has fizzled out.
Maybe you struggled balancing career with family or it’s your relationships that are unhappy and unfulfilling.
All this can leave you feeling empty, can’t it?
I understand that.
It’s no wonder that you may also be feeling exhausted, unable to sleep, finding comfort in that glass of wine, bar of chocolate or even drugs prescription or otherwise.
Just like you I came to a point in my life where I felt miserable and depressed and my self-esteem was at rock bottom, I decided that I needed to change, that was the start of my own therapy journey.
And I know that this is not about being selfish, this is about self care.
I will help you re-discover the true you, working on the areas where you feel you need help, whether this is to improve your relationship issues or working with your low self confidence.
I do this by using my specialist art therapy skills and techniques to help you rediscover that loving relationship with yourself
And to help you move away from the past that is controlling you now in the present.
You don’t have to be ‘good’ at art because it’s not about how well you can draw its more about the process.
These processes will help you find new ways of being, where you don’t have to resort to self medication.
When I work with you I will listen carefully and will be compassionate and kind.
My role is not to judge after all I understand your pain.
Your journey will be emotional though, uncomfortable and challenging at times, but the pay off will be worth it you will regain your sparkle and will feel happier and healthier.
I invite you to take this journey of self-awareness, self-knowledge, self-discovery, and self-love, with me as your guide.
I vow to give you a gentle push when you need it, as well the compassion and understanding you deserve.
Working with me will enable you to regain control and SPARKLE AGAIN.
I hold my sessions in beautiful purpose built therapy rooms in central Southend, with good public transport links and plenty of parking.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
