About me

About Me

I understand the complexities and challenges that many individuals face in their relationships due to the impact of pornography and sexually compulsive behaviors. After graduating with a postgraduate diploma in counselling in 2012, I have dedicated my career to providing compassionate support as a practicing Therapist with ACC. My journey led me to become a certified sex addiction specialist in 2019, recognized by the International Association of Certified Sex Addiction Specialists. I have also pursued extensive trauma training and recently embraced brainspotting as a powerful tool for healing.

Since 2015, I have focused my clinical specialization and research on helping individuals who have felt the repercussions of these issues within their primary relationships. My approach is rooted in the Integrative Counselling Model, and when I work with couples experiencing infidelity, I draw on the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model to navigate the complexities of their situation. I firmly believe in being trauma-informed, providing a safe space where healing can flourish.

I offer both individual and group therapy sessions, prioritizing high-quality, ethical care through Zoom to make therapeutic support more accessible for everyone seeking help.

Clinical Affiliations

I am a proud clinical member of the APSATS (Association for Partners of Sex Addicts and Trauma Specialists) and the ACC (Association for Christian Counsellors).  I am a certified Brainspotting Practitioner.

How Counselling Can Help

Counselling provides a nurturing environment to address and work through emotional pain and discomfort. It’s a safe space for you to explore your feelings and experiences, and I am here to support you with empathy and understanding, respecting your unique perspective.

Training and Experience

As a professionally trained integrative individual counsellor, I use Brainspotting to help process trauma, PTSD, OCD, depression, and other challenges. My approach to couple counselling is integrative, incorporating insights from reputable models such as Gottman, Dr. Sue Johnson, and Imago Relationship Therapy, as well as the ERCEM (Early Couples Recovery Model). I have spent nearly a decade walking alongside women globally who have experienced betrayal, offering support and understanding.

Having spoken at four international conferences on the adverse effects of pornography on committed relationships, I am passionate about raising awareness and aiding recovery.

My Approach to Therapy

I believe that every individual deserves dignity, respect, and compassion, regardless of their past. Life can present overwhelming challenges that may leave us feeling stuck. My primary goal is to partner with you on your journey toward healing and self-empowerment. I strive to be direct yet compassionate as we work together to inspire meaningful change in your life.

Building a trusting relationship is essential to me, as I consider therapy a dynamic process that thrives on a safe and secure connection. I utilize evidence-based and outcome-driven interventions that facilitate real and lasting change. Whether you are grappling with compulsive behaviors, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, or other emotional hurdles, I am dedicated to helping you tap into your inherent capacity to heal and thrive.

Special Interest

In couple counselling, I have a particular focus on helping partners heal from the profound effects of Complex Betrayal Trauma.

Further information

My therapy approach is based on the belief that every human being is inherently precious and worthy of dignity, respect and compassion, no matter what they have done in the past or what problems they might have. As people, we have amazing capacity to overcome tremendous adversity. Yet, sometimes a trauma or ongoing challenge is so severe that we just get stuck and have difficulty moving past it.

My primary goal is to partner with you to help you develop the awareness and skill necessary to empower you on your path of recovery. I am direct, compassionate and supportive as I encourage the changes necessary for a satisfying life. I place high importance on building trust with my clients and believe that therapy is a dynamic process founded on a safe, secure relationship that provides both unconditional support and accountability. In addition, I incorporate interventions that are outcome-driven, evidence-based and task-centred for real and lasting change.

Whether your struggles involve compulsive behaviours, post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, abandonment issues, illness, grief or chronic shame, I help you tap into your ability to heal and resolve the underlying issues in order to flourish. It is possible to develop an integrated whole Self with the capacity for true love and connection!
