About me

I have worked in private practice in central London for twenty years, since first qualifying as an psychotherapist. I completed a long cycle of continuing professional development in 2012, then registering as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist. To further my capacity to work with enduring concerns, I am training in psychoanalysis as a candidate member of the British Psychoanalytic Association, .

I am a registered clinical supervisor, and currently work half-time in private practice alongside holding a senior NHS teaching post.

I am pleased to be contacted by people seeking focused support during a period of change, or longer-term therapy when desired changes seem very hard to achieve. Many people in my practice want to make sense of difficult family relationships: with their parents; their children; their siblings; their partners. It is often helpful to think inter-generationally about these situations, which are also very easily stirred up and experienced in the workplace.

Psychoanalytic work has a long history of addressing relational difficulties in careful detail, and is my usual approach to clinical practice.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold UKCP registration as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and psychodynamic supervisor. I first registered with the UKCP as an existential psychotherapist and counsellor.

I currently teach on a doctoral-level clinical training at the Tavistock Centre, London, and have previously been a Principal Lecturer in Counselling and Subject Lead for a BACP-accredited MA programme.

Qualifications: Graduate Diploma, PGCert, MA, PhD, IGA Diploma in Supervison.

I am a Clinical Member of the Forum for Independent Psychotherapists, an Associate Member of the Institute of Group Analysis, and a Candidate Member of the British Psychoanalytic Association.
