About me

I have a wealth of experience and success in working with many life issues such as anxiety, bereavement, grief, loss, depression, family issues, relationships and trauma. Plus, for many years, I've supported people in the work environment, understanding how tough processes such as redundancy, investigations, workplace bullying etc, can be.

Do you feel confused, or overwhelmed, exhausted by worry? Perhaps you feel misunderstood, unheard, or fear telling others? Maybe you know what the issue is but can't see your way through. There are many reasons why people come to me for counselling.

About Me

I'm a qualified integrative counsellor, who uses various evidence-based methods, to support your needs in the most suitable way. I practice from a relational perspective, striving to create a safe, comfortable, non-judgemental rapport. Personally, I'm a parent, step-parent and wife who has experienced my own life challenges and I've found counselling beneficial when in need.

Taking the next brave step

Whilst initial contact can feel daunting, my primary aim is to put you at ease to enable the change, or clarity you are seeking. I am enthusiastic about helping you to overcome the barriers faced, so you feel able to move forward with clarity. To arrange a free quick introduction call, or free consultation, to gauge if we fit, please contact me. Take care.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I offer therapy sessions via secure video, or telephone. We can decide on frequency of sessions and I aim to be flexible with appointments.

I use various types of therapy from a relational perspective, combining Person-Centred to understand what you're bringing. As we work together I may use resources and psychoeducation, particularly if you feel some anxiety. Or perhaps we may consider your history to understand your relational patterns with yourself and others. Every client is individual and so I strive to adapt and meet your needs.

I have experience working with adults ranging from 18 - 70 years of age, in short-term and long-term therapy. This is either within my own private practice, BWB Counselling, or working with mental health charities such as Mind and Beacon Counselling, or with some employer Employee Assistance Programmes.
