About me

Work with a qualified therapist and the healing power of nature to relieve emotional and psychological pain, make sense of your life and discover and reach your potential.

Working outside
I combine therapy with walking in nature or green urban areas. This approach increases lateral thinking, unlock more creative solutions and provides a non-threatening environment where eye contact is not required. I am fully trained to provide such therapy and can adapt the role nature plays to best meet your needs.

I am a qualified counsellor and ecotherapist and your guide and companion on your therapeutic journey. My approach is humanistic, I believe every one of us has the capacity to reach mental and psychological wellness by embracing who we are or making changes to become who we want to be. I consider myself an enabler, helping you uncover your own solutions.

I am passionate about people and their stories and circumstances, and have strong empathy as well as a genuine healthy curiosity. Combined with my professional training I can help you overcome issues, learn about yourself, and generally feel more content with life.

I have helped clients - from young people to older people - on various journeys, from dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, low self-esteem, sexual abuse to discovering or being comfortable with who you are.

Never judgemental, I am very comfortable working with clients who choose non traditional lifestyles, relationship or sex-wise.

Session types
I work mostly using a weekly session model.
However, I understand that this can be too much of a commitment - time-wise and financially - for some people, so also offer a fortnightly session model if appropriate, or even monthly.
I also now offer the "one-at-a-time" model where you attend just one session. This may be helpful for people who have a specific issue they want help with, and who are looking to discuss options and possibilities and put things into practice after the session. There is always the possibility of further "one-at-a-time" session(s) or to begin open-ended therapy.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and also hold a Lowland Leader qualification, making it safe for me to work with you outside.

I regularly attend training for practising outside in nature, and am an Associate Counsellor with the Wilderness Foundation.

I have a strong sense of ethics and undertake regular training in various areas - from neuropsychotherapy to mindfulness and therapeutic breathing techniques.

I am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society, have regular individual supervision, undertake training regularly, am committed to my own personal development and am fully insured.
