About me
I am a registered member of the BACP and offer confidential counselling from my practice in Wimbledon with safe guarding around Covid is strictly adhered to. I conduct sessions in person, via Zoom, Watsapp and Microsoft teams
I am experienced in working with individuals and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, bereavement and relationship difficulties.
My overall strategy is based upon the principle that people have choices and are responsible for their own decisions. I work integratively both with long term and short term interventions. I am able to recognize that working in a time-limited way in an environment such as the NHS can be helpful for many clients. I have found that having a clearly identifiable goal/problem to work on can promote independence and autonomy. On these occasions, I may draw on some basic CBT and solution focused techniques to help clients understand how feelings, thoughts and behaviours are interconnected. I also explore with the clients, their own past resilience and ideas about how they would like life to be and what they would like to do to change that. I keep in mind psychodynamic principles such as attachment and loss and how this may be impacting on the client’s presentation.
Using the psychology that personalities are formed by a combination of conscious and unconscious factors, my humane approach is intended to help clients understand that their present problems can in many ways be very much related to their past and that their acceptance of this can indeed be a very effective form of therapy.
Every individual is different and therefore everyone is approached using a variety of techniques and tools that can benefit them.
I also work on an open-ended contract as at times this might be necessary to provide the right treatment plan that can be tailored to meet individual needs.
By using my knowledge and experience of this form of counselling and working together we will be able to evaluate the very best way forward.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
