About me

As an Integrative therapist, I believe we all hold the power to heal ourselves but sometimes we need a little help along the way.

Psychotherapy can be a powerful transformative experience, whether you are struggling under the weight of your past, find yourself at a critical turning point or feel that your emotions sometimes prove overwhelming.

My way of working is relational, meaning I help clients explore their own patterns of relating to others and understand how these affect their sense of self. Early attachments with our caregivers are critical to how we perceive our surroundings. A strong therapeutic relationship where you feel heard and understood can become a creative blueprint for change.

People's stories have been a lifelong passion for me. Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked as a producer in film and television. I realised how vital our narratives are to the way we construct meaning and identity. As a result, many of my psychotherapy clients are writers, actors and musicians wrestling with their personal or professional identities.

I also have a keen interest in systemic and psychosexual therapy, with extensive experience working with trauma, loss, relationship difficulties and issues related to male fertility and sex.

Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, I offer a supportive and non-judgmental space where I will help you reflect and work through difficulties in your life.

My psychotherapy practice is based in Grosvenor Place, SW1, where I work at Westminster Therapy Associates, and in Pembridge Mews, W11.

I see clients in SW1 (5 mins walk from Victoria station) on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and in W11 (5 mins walk from Notting Hill Gate tube station) on Thursdays.

I also offer remote sessions over Zoom. Please visit my website, www.antoinegordontherapy.co.uk for more info.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
