About me

I'm an HCPC Registered Health Psychologist working with people to manage a range of issues relating to how the body and mind are connected.

I have a special interest in supporting people with weight management (e.g. relationships with food, weight loss support, making long-term changes to support health at any weight, bariatric patient support). I also provide support to people living with long-term health conditions (e.g. adjusting to living with illness, pain management, enhancing quality of life). I have worked with people on sleep improvement, coping with symptoms, addictions, health anxiety and much more. Health Psychology is a wonderful discipline that brings together physical health science and psychological therapies so that it can be of benefit to people dealing with a range of health-related concerns.

If you have something you would like support for please get in touch to discuss, I provide free initial 15 minute phone calls to ensure this support is right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a PhD in Health Psychology (University of Manchester) and a Professional Doctorate in Health Psychology (BPS QHP-Stage 2).

I'm Registered with the HCPC and Chartered by the British Psychological Society.

I have worked in NHS, private and community health settings. I'm trained in a range of evidence-based approaches for health behaviour change and person-centred therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
