About me

I am an experienced, BPS Chartered Consultant Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, working on-line during the COVID-19 Pandemic. I have been a Psychologist for the past twenty-two years, fourteen of these post-Chartered. I have a wealth of experience having worked in health care organisations in the private and public sector both in the UK and overseas.

I see adult clients with a broad range of psychological difficulties and life issues (please see below). My particular interests are PTSD, anxiety - including generalised anxiety, panic attacks and phobias; depression and bipolar mood problems; relationship issues and work-related stress. I employ a number of different approaches in my work, including CBT, EMDR and mindfulness. I can also provide focused psychodynamic therapy and am interested in integrative approaches to clinical issues.

I am working on-line during the COVID19 crisis. Please email me so that we can set up an arrangement - I will get back to you within a few hours. We will discuss your concerns and ascertain whether I am able to meet your needs. There is no obligation to continue after an initial discussion if you should not wish to do so. If your questions are not answered by reading this profile, then please email me and I will do my best to help.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am trained in a number of therapeutic modalities, including CBT, EMDR and focused psychodynamic work. I am also interested in using Integrative psychotherapeutic methods that draw on a number of approaches. I have trained in Clinical Hypnosis and use this as an adjunct to psychotherapeutic work where it seems appropriate, and if the client should want this. Mindfulness and Meditation are particular interests of mine that may be used to help support you on your healing journey.

I am an experienced trainer of Clinical Psychologists, having taught on the Doctoral Training course in Clinical Psychology at Canterbury Christ Church University (Salomons), for the past twelve years. I continue to regularly teach Clinical Psychology trainees and am an examiner on the Salomons course. I also offer supervision to Clinical Psychologists and other mental health professionals.

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
