About me

I believe that everyone’s realities are unique and therefore the only expert in your life is you. Sometimes the world can feel overwhelming and we just need someone to understand and care.

As a person-centred counsellor and a registered member of the BACP, I can offer you a safe space to offload your thoughts and feelings. I hold a Psychology degree with the University of Winchester and a Counselling diploma with Middlesex University. I offer online confidential counselling to people who struggle with all kinds of issues. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, abuse, trauma, neurodiversity, gender diversity, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, schizoaffective disorder and homelessness just to name a few. I choose to charge at a low rate compared to other therapists because I want to to reach as many people as I can and I don’t want finance to be a barrier to mental health support.

The person-centred counsellor’s role is to offer the best conditions for the client to grow into themselves. I will do this by aiming to see through the your eyes and by offering unconditional acceptance to whatever you bring. The aim is to help you learn how to offer this acceptance and understanding to yourself. I will support you during this journey in the counselling sessions. After the counselling ends, this journey continues outside of the counselling sessions.

I have worked in social care and mental health for over five years and have met brave and inspiring people. Using my qualifications and my experience in social care, I will be there with you as you make discoveries about yourself and grow in confidence.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Additional information

Reaching as many people as possible is incredibly important to me because I believe that therapy should be accessible to everyone. Therefore, I offer concessions to anyone who is low-income and can not afford the full £40.

Each session is 50 minutes long and how many sessions you receive depends on what you choose. For example, some clients choose to have six sessions while others choose to have fifteen. However, I do not go beyond twenty sessions; this is so that you have a chance to use what you have learned independently. If you still require help at the end of the counselling process, I will support you to find this help before the end.

Further information

At the present moment, I can only offer online counselling (either via telephone or by video call). I am hoping to expand into face-to-face in the future.

If you feel I can help you, contact me via email to book a free initial consultation. Here we discuss in more detail what this type of therapy is and what I offer. This is also an opportunity to explain why you have pursued counselling and what you hope to get out of it.
