About me

Hello, I'm Amy. I recognise that life can sometimes be complex, confusing, and difficult. Our anxieties and worries can feel overwhelming, and have a real impact on our day to day experience, our relationships with others, and the way we see ourselves. I'm here to listen to you, warmly and without judgement, and to help you to develop an understanding of you are. Together we can explore ways in which we can make changes in order to relieve discomfort, make sense of how your history may have impacted you, and free you of any processes that don't serve you well. We will work on putting yourself at the centre of your narrative.

I draw on a wide range of therapeutic techniques, but predominantly use Transactional Analysis (TA); this looks at your past in order to make sense of you now, so you can facilitate future changes. All my work is tailored to each individual; we will create your unique space together - compassionately, safely, and securely.

Starting therapy can be daunting, and it's important that you find the right therapist for you. I offer a free 15 minute phone/online consultation, where we can introduce ourselves, discuss what it is you'd like from therapy, and the ways in which I might be able to support you. Please feel free to get in touch if you'd like to chat about working together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Level 7 Post Graduate Diploma in Transactional Analysis from an Integrative Approach.

I've been working with clients since 2020, and opened my private practice in 2022.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
