About me

I am kind and compassionate by nature and people usually tell me that they find me very easy to talk to. My theoretical approach is one of acceptance and empathy, so rest assured that I will not judge you but am here to help support you.

I am married with 2 adult children and run my private practice entirely online. As a wife and mother I understand the challenges that life can sometimes present and how demanding it all can be, so I want to encourage you not to struggle alone but reach out and get some support - after all that's why you're here!

I work mainly with the following client groups where Anxiety, Stress or Depression are the presenting issue:

  • Young People - dependant upon age & maturity. Please enquire.
  • Couple Therapy.

I do also work with Bereavement & Loss.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor and qualified in the Year 2000. I currently working in private practice Supervising Individuals and also trainees from various Universities, studying from Diploma through to Doctorate Level.
  • In addition to working with Individuals, Young People and Couples, I also provide short term Therapy working as an Employee Assistance Affiliate to several EAP organisations.
  • As an Accredited Member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists) I undertake a minimum of 30 hrs CPD, per year.
  • I am Certified as an Online Therapist.
  • I am also a Clinical Supervisor and hold an Diploma in Integrative Supervision of Groups & Individuals.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
