About me

NB website was temporarily down 22.04.24, sorted 23.04.24!

Golden Leaf Counselling - Making Life Changes...online world wide (in person:  Cromer area but including Sheringham, Holt, Norwich and Aylsham)
Mature and Experienced Counsellor available:  Stress, Anxiety or depression? low self esteem or anger problems...? relationship or couples issues? a bereavement or loss of some kind to deal with (including divorce, separation, dementia)?

NB Face to face work , telephone, facetime/skype/zoom  - occasional walking sessions:

Anything that you feel is holding you back in your life will benefit from the help of a sympathetic and listening ear.
I have over 20 years experience in the counselling world, teaching and listening, and plenty of varied life experience, (living in various locations) to help you understand yours better.  Gentle challenge will also help you explore how you can be more empowered in your own situation.

Counselling is about looking at other options to life's problems, with someone outside your usual family and friends network. This helps because the counsellor does not have anything to do with your existing relationships and so can offer a more neutral perspective.

Golden Leaf offers an integrative service, (drawing upon CBT and Gestalt techniques within a Person Centred base). An additional specialism is in working with addictions and dependencies such as alcohol problems, which are often linked to how you feel about yourself in general and to your relationships.

Couples Counselling:  I have over 60 hours of training over 6 years and a Certificate Accredited by ISPC (2019), plus 15 years experience

I am also a "Male Friendly" Counsellor, with expertise in Male Identity Issues.

If you are a trainee counsellor needing therapy hours, or a counsellor requiring supervision these are also options - please look at my website or get in touch for further details.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
