About me
I am starting to see clients Face to Face from Monday 1st June, there will be masks and gloves available free of charge along with Hand Sanitiser and a very clean/sterile room. We will also have a 2 metre social distance gap at all times from meeting you to sitting in my counselling room.
Hello and thank you for looking at my profile, my name is David Holden and I am a qualified and experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist...
Sometimes life throws obstacles in our path, and we are unable to deal with them alone, this is where counselling can be very helpful, together we can find the best way forward, and get your life back on track.
You may find it really helpful to talk things through with a qualified professional in a nurturing, non-judgemental, confidential space.
I can offer appointments every day, morning, afternoon or evening, seven days a week, so I am sure we can find a space to suit us both.
I have worked in many different settings - Primary Care [GP surgery], Bereavement agency, I have worked in schools, working with children form the ages of 11 to 18, and in Private Practice - which means that I have experience in a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, addictions, phobias, low self-esteem, self-harm, suicide, bereavement, relationship problems, work-related stress etc.
I am an integrative counsellor which means I draw from a number of theoretical approaches which include Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person Centred, and more.
We can work long term or short term, home visits may be possible if mobility is a problem - please enquire, I can pretty much work around most schedules, there is nothing we cannot achieve
I also offer skype counselling, or telephone counselling for clients who would find it difficult to commit to face to face counselling

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
