About me

I am currently offering sessions over zoom.

My aim is to offer you a space that feels safe so you can explore and deepen your understanding of yourself and your life. From this place, I hope you will feel a growth in self-awareness and a closer connection to your needs and values.

There are many reasons why people seek support from a counsellor:

From the shattering experiences of loss to the flatness of not feeling like you want to get up in the morning; therapy can be your space to express and be heard.

Sometimes in life, emotions seem to spill out; as a counsellor, I offer an anchored reflective space to explore the emotions and feelings that lead to reactions.

I like to think of human beings as a complex patchwork made up of all the things that have happened in their lives... feelings, emotions, histories, and relationships layered on top of each other. Together at your pace we can get that patchwork out, unfold it and grapple with all the stitches and pieces of fabric that make you you.

My journey to becoming a counsellor was from the place of feeling like I needed something to fix me; that there was something out there that could solve my problems. Through feeling deeply heard and understood, I began to grow in understanding myself. My focus shifted from an idea of finding the 'fix' to a more curious perspective, I became softer towards myself. The more I understood and owned parts of myself, the more empowered and self-compassionate I became. It's never done, our journey to knowing ourselves, it's a sacred lifelong relationship.

I believe that you are the expert of your life, and it is my job to listen to the many parts of you deeply. Together we can explore what the perspectives of the many parts mean to you.

I hope that through counselling you can deepen your relationship with yourself, ultimately feeling more empowered and self-aware. I offer compassion for the behaviours and feelings you might be critical of; whilst honouring the aspect motivated to change. This is often the very part that is seeking therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
