About me
I am currently offering therapy sessions for individuals and couples via Zoom.
What I offer and how I work
My core training is in the person-centred approach, which means that I work relationally, bringing compassion and an openness to hearing and understanding you. I hope to create a safe and supportive space where you can explore and deepen your understanding of yourself and your life.
If you have anxiety, I will encourage you to teach me about what that is for you. Together, we can take a look at what the anxiety is made up of, what the triggers are, and what helps you feel soothed and safe.
I view individuals as complex tapestries woven together by their experiences—made up of emotions, histories, and relationships. Together, we can take the time to unravel your tapestry, looking at the various threads and pieces that have contributed to making you who you are today.
My journey to becoming a counsellor began with my own search for healing. I thought the answer was something outside myself. Through my own personal therapy, I experienced the profound effect of being truly heard and understood. It wasn't so much about being offered solutions; it was about being accepted and understood in my pain. That experience moved my perspective from the idea of needing to be fixed; to approaching myself with curiosity and kindness. By continuing to embrace (the work is never done) all parts of who I am, I find a growing self-compassion and acceptance. My work mission is to offer this sort of relationship to others—to hear, understand and accept another human being.
I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to listen deeply to the many dimensions of your experience. Together, we can explore the significance of these perspectives. I always work with the hope that a deeper sense of self will lead to choices that are aligned with what you really want from your life.
I hope that through our work together, you will gain a greater sense of who you are as a person. I work by offering compassion for the behaviours and emotions you may struggle with, while honouring your motivation for change—the very aspect that often seeks therapeutic support.
My work with couples is supported by an integrated couple's counsellor toolkit comprising of the following models and theories: psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, emotionally-focused therapy (EFT), love languages, and the Gottman method, all supported by my person-centred core.
I aim to create a safe space where couples can explore their individual needs and desires and discover the impact of these needs and desires on each other. I think it is important to say my aim is not for all couples to stay together. I aim for each partner to find clarity by having a space to voice what they want and need in a relationship and listen openly to their partner's perspective. From here, they can decide whether to work through their challenges, and I can support this process of investing in the relationship, or I can support you if you decide to part ways. Research shows that even when couples decide to separate after counselling, they report finding counselling beneficial and helpful in the separation process.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
