About me

Sometimes life doesn’t look the way we would like it to. Unexpected events occur that feel difficult to deal with, or we might feel ‘stuck’, unable to move beyond events or through the pressures and complexities of life and relationships. Most people at some point experience difficulties in response to life circumstances. These might be feelings of anxiety, guilt, grief, loss, shame or thoughts of not being ‘good enough’. Sometimes circumstances and such feelings can stop us from living the life we would like to live.

I will accompany you on a journey, as together we shed light on and make sense of experiences. We will work together, empowering you to move through the difficulties that are getting in the way, and move towards a meaningful life aligned with what really matters to you.

To work through any issues you might be experiencing I always aim to provide a comfortable, non-judgmental space where you feel safe to share.  I offer:

- short-term goal-oriented support for stress management, burnout, better sleep, and general mind health and wellness

- psychological therapeutic support for issues relating to anxiety, low mood / depression, low self-esteem / low self-confidence, and interpersonal / relationship concerns, and the impact of these on personal and professional life

- psychological therapy for trauma, traumatic life experiences and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

- explorative and reflective therapeutic work to make sense of experiences and social and relational concerns

- support for adults and young people with a diagnosis of autism spectrum condition (ASC) / Asperger's, or those considering this as a potential explanation for difficulties they experience and are considering an assessment

- full formal diagnostic assessments of autism spectrum condition are offered for both adults and young people

In our first sessions we will explore the issues that have brought you to seek support and establish some goals for our sessions.  To avoid any concerns about therapy being 'never-ending', we will agree on a number of sessions in the first instance and review at intervals to ensure we are moving in the right direction for you.

Please reach out by sending an email with brief information about what you are experiencing, or book an introductory telephone / video call, and we can take it from there.

Further information

As a Clinical Psychologist, I am trained in various approaches, which allows me to offer a bespoke holistic therapeutic experience, tailored to the individual and the issues at hand. Sessions can take a variety of formats as agreed, such as inside or outside of the traditional therapy room, and may include walk-and-talk, movement and mind-body therapeutic practices, and can be practical as well as reflective.

I believe that values-based living and holistic and creative approaches to therapeutic work are not only important to overcome periods of crisis in life but also serve in the prevention of serious mental health difficulties and foster greater overall health and wellbeing.
