About me

I am a fully qualified and experienced counselling therapist, based in the Swindon area. I work professionally with adults of all ages either face to face or online. My role is one of support and gentle curiosity. I work intigratively tailoring our therapy sessions to suit your current needs.

At a glance..

  • I offer a free 15 minute initial phone consultation.
  • I manage a flexible approach to ongoing sessions- embracing a clients work pattern or availability where possible.
  • I offer Face to Face, Online and Walk and Talk sessions.
  • I respond to all enquiries within 48hrs.

Our mental health is really important and all too often we can find ourselves becoming overwhelmed by life's demands or by the needs and wants of others.  It is very easy to lose sight of our own needs, often putting ourselves last becomes second nature!

An event past or present may have left you feeling overwhelmed, or generally off kilter.  You maybe feeling anxious and worried about things, perhaps isolated or lonely and finding it hard to navigate life.  With any overwhelming thoughts or feelings can come a sense of exhaustion, of loss or anger and finding the best way forward can feel hard to identify.

I believe we each have the inner ability to heal and work with what is emotionally ailing us and by creating a safe space where you are truly heard and accepted without judgement is the ideal opportunity to do this.  You will be offered the mutual respect, empathy and kindness of a 121 counselling relationship where we can work at your pace focusing on your needs.

Overwhelming thoughts and feelings are very real, its the bodies natural reaction to an unwelcome/unexpected event or situation.  As unique individuals, we all experience these in different ways and at different levels. This is why the counselling offered, also know as “Talking Therapy” is tailored to suit your needs. Its a chance for you to just be YOU. It is a source of support as you explore your experiences and process the thoughts, feelings and emotions related to them.

We are relational beings and strive to be socially connected with others. However overtime, our thoughts, feelings and emotions can distort our sense of safety and general well-being. They can undermined our sense of worth and confidence, often leaving us lacking energy and self-esteem.

Therapy aims to help build resilience, understanding and connection. Enabling you to move toward a life that feels more balanced and true to yourself.

I have supported Clients with issues such as …

Bereavement
Anxiety
Depression

Loss/Grief
Self-Esteem
Panic Attacks

Lack Of Confidence
Trauma
Loneliness
Relationship Issues

Counselling can benefit those looking for support whilst managing a change in circumstance or processing difficult life decisions. As looking at options and considering a different perspective can often bring clarity.

How I work....

I’m trained intigratively, which means I work with various counselling models in order to tailor our therapy sessions to suit your current needs.

I am there to listen with empathy and strive to see the world through your eyes.

Through our counselling relationship we will work to increase your self awareness to gain a better understanding of your behaviours.  I will share my counselling knowledge, skills and experience.  Together we will work to find a way forward.  I am not there to give you the answers, as you will discover those for yourself, I'm there to facilitate, enable and support.

So lets work together in a way that makes you ‘FeelEnabled’,

How we can connect..  In Person. I have a calm and welcoming counselling room based in Swindon, where we can meet on a weekly basis.  Online via Zoom or by telephone.   Zoom can be securely downloaded for free onto a computer, laptop or other mobile device, making counselling more accessible than ever, enabling us to connect where ever you might be.

I also offer Walk & Talk/ Outdoor therapy - Evidence suggests there are real benefits to be gained by being able to combine the positive aspects of being outdoors with the benefits of talking therapy. We know that being outside can improve mood, help us to sleep better and decrease stress and anxiety for example. It can be both soothing and exhilarating. It provides the opportunity to increase exposure to natural light and fresh air that our bodies and brains instinctively respond to. Please contact me for more details...

I aim to respond to all new enquiries within 48hrs.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
