About me
Hello, I’m Susie.
You might be here because anxiety or low mood has become part of your everyday life, even when things look “fine” on the outside. Perhaps relationships feel hard to sustain, self-doubt creeps in more than you’d like, or past experiences still show up in your body and your reactions in ways you don’t fully understand. You may be carrying grief or loss quietly, or feeling the long-term effects of trauma or early experiences that were never really given space.
For some people, these struggles are made more complex by ADHD or neurodivergence. Thoughts can feel constant and hard to settle, emotions intense or difficult to regulate, and life can feel more effortful than it seems to be for others. You may function well, yet feel tired, misunderstood, or out of step underneath it all.
Often, what people really want isn’t to be “fixed”, but to feel calmer in their own mind, more secure in relationships, and more trusting of themselves. To sleep without everything looping, to understand their patterns without self-blame, and to feel more settled in who they are and how they move through the world.
I work with this kind of complexity every day, supporting adults with anxiety, low mood, self-esteem difficulties, relationship challenges, trauma and bereavement, alongside a neurodivergence-affirming understanding of ADHD and difference. This work is also informed by lived experience of later ADHD diagnosis, which brings a grounded, compassionate understanding of how these experiences intersect in real life, not just in theory.
**Who I Support**
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, self-esteem difficulties, relationship challenges, grief and the lasting impact of earlier experiences.
I also specialise in working in a neurodivergence-affirming way, supporting neurodivergent adults, including those with ADHD, as well as people who are exploring identity, later diagnosis, or the emotional impact of living in a world that hasn’t always fitted how their mind works. Friends and family of neurodivergent people are also welcome.
**About My Services:**
I provide online counselling for adults (18+), allowing for flexibility and comfort in your sessions. I have additional training in working with young people and often support 18-25 young adults
**How I work**
Building a sense of safety and trust is central to the work. You decide what feels safe to share and when. There is no pressure to talk about anything before you’re ready.
In our first session, I’ll ask some gentle questions to understand what’s brought you to counselling and what you’re hoping for, even if that feels unclear at first. From there, we’ll shape the work together in a way that feels realistic and supportive for you.
Some people like to be asked questions, others need space and silence to process their thoughts. Some sessions are talkative, others quieter. There’s no right way to do therapy here. We work in a way that respects how you think, feel and process things.
Alongside talking therapy, sessions may also include gentle grounding or relaxation approaches if they feel helpful, particularly when the nervous system feels busy or overloaded. These are always optional and guided by what supports you best.
**What to Expect**
Counselling can be short-term or longer-term. Some people come for focused support over a few weeks, others value having ongoing space over months or years. We decide together what feels right, and this can change over time.
Above all, my aim is to offer a steady, respectful space where you can feel heard and understood, make sense of what’s going on for you, and move forward with more clarity and self-trust.
**Is Counselling Right for Me?**
By examining your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions, you can become more aware of habits and behaviours that no longer serve you and discover your strengths. This newfound awareness can help you move towards change.
**Why Choose Me?**
I am a warm and experienced therapist with a wide range of training and lived experience. I am deeply curious about people.
My approach is pluralistic, which means I weave various different branches of counselling together.. I trust in your inherent tendency to move towards change and growth and I will do a lot of listening but if you prefer to be asked questions, I can do that too. I will work in a way that suits you . I will support you to find your inner wisdom so you can make decisions that are right for you and your unique situation.
I am experienced working with various issues, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, childhood abuse, relationship difficulties, and bereavement. I have volunteered with West Wales Domestic Abuse Service, Carmarthenshire Counselling Service, and NHS Bereavement Service, as well as working as a secondary school counsellor.
Please feel free to contact me by text or email.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to their ethical guidelines. I receive regular supervision and keep up to date with learning through reading and courses.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
