About me

I am a fully trained and qualified therapeutic counsellor and have experience of working with clients on a range of issues including anxiety, depression, grief, loss, sexual abuse, childhood trauma, anger, relationships and low self-esteem. I offer a non-judgmental, warm and accepting space for you to talk through whatever you would like to bring. I seek to create a therapeutic relationship that is collaborative, compassionate and caring while always giving clients autonomy over their own decision making.

I know it can be daunting to start the counselling journey but I also know how great the rewards and benefits can be.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified and experienced therapeutic counsellor. I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by their code of ethics. I have worked with young people in a secondary school setting and with adults in general practice with a wide range of presenting issues including anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, sexual abuse, anger, low self-esteem and trauma.

I work with the person-centred approach which means I believe in your ability to grow and heal given the right conditions. I will not lead you but walk alongside you on your therapeutic journey as a caring, compassionate and curious companion.

I know personally and believe in the power of therapy to change lives, if you are ready to start your journey to healing and a more fulfilling life get in touch now.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
