About me

Are you struggling with any of the following issues? Anxiety, eating disorders/disordered eating, low self-esteem, self-harm, identity issues, family conflict, bereavement and loss, depression, trauma, addictions, relationship issues, or mental health issues?

We all experience times in our life when we feel easily overwhelmed or anxious, have difficulty in relationships, or lack purpose in life. I am passionate about supporting people to grow and heal through acceptance and understanding.

I can offer you a free 15 minute consultation with no obligation, just email me. I will ask you about yourself, what has brought you to counselling and what you would like to achieve. It is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.

About me

I am a warm, professional, down-to-earth, integrative counsellor with a very compassionate approach. I offer video call and telephone counselling throughout the UK.

Over the past 20 years I have volunteered with various charities and gained extensive knowledge and experience supporting and caring for individuals through challenging and difficult times. My own ways of finding relaxation include music, cinema, books, art, connecting with family and friends, yoga and mindfulness.

Counselling can offer you the unique opportunity to connect with someone who cares deeply about understanding things from your perspective. I can offer you a confidential, empathic, and safe space to explore your issues. I see my clients as unique individuals and endeavour to listen without judgement whilst treating you with the utmost dignity and respect. I am dedicated to social diversity, equality, inclusivity, and have worked extensively with the LGBTQIA+ community.

My approach

I am an humanistic integrative counsellor, drawing on different psychological theories including person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive behaviour therapy. My approach will continue to be led according to the needs of my clients and I believe no single approach can treat every client in all situations. Each person needs to be considered as a whole and counselling techniques can be tailored to your individual needs and personal circumstances. I work compassionately, creatively and intuitively to explore how we can bring about acceptance, understanding, growth and change.

Training, qualifications & experience

My qualifications

I have obtained a COSCA accredited Diploma in Counselling and a COSCA Certificate in Counselling. I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP) and am bound by their Ethical Frameworks for Good Practice which sets the standards for ethical counselling practice, and I also adhere to their complaints procedures. I am also a member of Person-Centered Therapy Scotland.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
