About me

A Counselling Trinity

1/Maybe you just need to offload what’s weighing you down. You just need an independent 'someone' to listen.

2/Maybe you want to know why you feel a certain way, why certain things are happening to, or around, you.

3/Maybe you just want change. You don’t want to feel or live like this anymore.

You may well require all of the above (whether in that sequence or not) but counselling for you may just consist of only one or the other of these things.

I am an Integrative Counsellor and Life-Coach who works in a "Person-Centred" way.  "Integrative", in a counselling context, means that I combine elements and techniques from the major schools of counselling (inc. CBT). My therapy is informal, conversational & collaborative. You 'drive' it.... and I'll help you 'navigate' your way through it....Whatever works for you works for me.

I cannot promise to "cure" you (if that were even possible), but I do promise to sit alongside you, as together, we work to better understand what "makes you tick" and to tap into what I believe to be your own innate ability to help and/or heal yourself.

------------------------------------------------

A combined approach can be useful when coping with powerful emotions like panic, fear, worry, shame, anger, self-doubt, guilt, hate, confusion, consternation, disgust, shock, sadness etc.

I have experience of working with:

Emotional turmoil or distress including depression and anxiety-related phenomena, stress and 'overwhelm', trauma, life-changes, isolation & loneliness, disappointment, disillusionment, perceived 'failure', injustice, insecurity, rejection, intrusive or negative thoughts, self-defeating-habits, low-self-esteem and poor self-image.

If appropriate, I'll also work with you on self-awareness and development, mindset & performance-coaching, 'emotional intelligence', resilience-training, inter-personal communications skills, anger-management, basic mindfulness and relaxation techniques, personal and professional goals, life-skills, or spirituality.

-------------------------------------------------

What to do next

Get in touch via email or phone, details as provided elsewhere. I will attempt to return messages within 48 hours. If you're interested in moving ahead with me, whether by phone, internet or in-person, we'll arrange for a more in-depth consultation where we will explore your situation further - and my methods - to determine if and how we will work together from then on.
