About me
Life can feel overwhelming when you’re carrying too much on your own. You may be coping with anxiety, grief, relationship difficulties, addiction, or a sense of being stuck. I offer a calm, confidential space where you can slow down, breathe, and explore what’s happening with someone who listens deeply and without judgement.
I’m an integrative counsellor and psychodynamic therapist, which means I tailor therapy to your needs while helping you understand the deeper patterns shaping your thoughts, emotions, and relationships. My approach is warm, steady, and grounded — supporting you to make sense of your experiences and move towards lasting change.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychodynamic Therapy, supported by extensive ongoing CPD that keeps my practice informed by current research and best practice. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
I bring 23 years of experience working in mental health across the UK and South Africa. My background includes supporting women fleeing domestic abuse, young people leaving care or at risk of homelessness, addiction recovery work, and therapeutic support within ethnic minority communities. I have also managed a peer‑led mental health project in partnership with the NHS and third‑sector organisations. Alongside this, I have significant experience working with childhood trauma, attachment injuries, and the deep emotional patterns that can continue into adulthood. Much of my work involves helping clients understand how early relational experiences shape their sense of self, their relationships, and their coping strategies. I also work extensively with shame — particularly the kind that feels hidden, overwhelming, or rooted in early experiences. My approach supports clients to gently explore these internal landscapes, develop self‑compassion, and build safer, more secure ways of relating to themselves and others.
These experiences have shaped a grounded, trauma‑aware, relational approach and a deep respect for each person’s resilience and story.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
