About me

I am a qualified and experienced integrated therapist, a Supervisor, and a partner at Burnley based Triad Therapy. I work from a range of psychological models, including Cognitive Behavioural, Person Centred and Solution Focused.

Often, life is stressful, difficult, confusing and complicated. We carry the weights of our past and the fears of the future. We’re expected to be so much to many people, and at times, this can feel very overwhelming. In addition, life can sometimes be lonely, isolating and emotional.

I think it’s important to have someone on your side, someone to listen intently, be patient, and attempt to understand what’s happening for you. My aim is to work closely with you and help you find, recognise and work towards overcoming what you feel is holding you back, causing you pain, or leaving you feeling stuck. Together, it is my hope we can help you find inner strength, grow and move forward.

How Counselling can help...

Counselling and therapy can be incredibly helpful to help you deal with issues that are causing you emotional pain. Counselling offers a safe and dependable space for you to talk and explore difficult feelings. The counsellor is there to support you and your worries. Counsellors don't tend to offer advice like a friend would, but will sit with you, offering support, guidance and a non-judgemental, private space to explore what's on your mind.

Your first session...

Your first session can feel incredibly intimidating and overwhelming, and you may not know where to begin. This is a very normal feeling to have, and the counsellor will support you through this. Usually, you will go through your contract together, which is designed to be transparent, supportive and will keep you and the counsellor ethically safe. you may also get the opportunity to ask any extra questions before you choose to begin. Take a slow deep breath, and start at your own pace. You've made a very important step forward by going to your session...

How I work...

I practice an integrative approach to therapy. This means I can work with you using a wide range of therapeutic disciplines that tailor to you personally, to help you uncover what’s happening inside of you. I may not have all the answers, but I will be with you as we understand the barriers, forge a new beginning, and attempt to see things clearer.

I consider myself open-minded, with a spiritual side. My goal and my mindset is to walk beside you on your journey to a more fulfilled, more contented you.

I additionally offer Clinical Supervision to trainee counsellors and practicing therapists. Please contact me for more information about Supervision
